LCOM Card Sketch #74

I really like the simple design of this sketch, and wanted to add a little fun in the style of the card itself.  I kept with the main sketch so when the card is flat you can see that I haven't strayed from the sketch at all.  However, when its used as an easel card, it gives it a totally different look.  How fun is that?  I don't know who comes up with these different styles of cards, but it sure makes it fun to make cards.

I made this for my oldest son's birthday.  He loves to fish.  He'd be on the lake from morning until night if he didn't have to work.  He turns 24 this year.  Time sure flies.  I hope he likes his card.

This is of my son on his senior year of high school.  I'm really late at scrapping, so happy that I've 

come across some great sketch sites lately.

I got the sketch from Stuck Sketches. I missed the challenge but so glad I found the sketch.


                            

I love my dog scrapbook page

I ran across the challenge at Stuck Sketches, and decided to dig an old photo out of my pack.
The photo I am scrapping today, is  of my dad, my dog Rags, and myself when I was a little
girl.  I love this photo with my hair back in a handkerchief.  My Dog Rags grew up with me, he
was such a good little dog.  I remember taking him to the school yard with me after school to play
on the play equipment there.  We'd go up the ladder of the slide, he would follow me, climb all by himself.  We'd walk the balance beams that were only about a foot up off the ground.  I really
enjoyed taking him there, and he liked it too.

Anyway, on to my layout..  Don't stare too long it might make you a little dizzy.  lol

Twix smelling the flowers

I am finding some really beautiful challenges that are helping me get my scrapbooking pages completed.
This is my son's dog Twix.  We had some beautiful roses and she kept going over to smell them.
I thought it was so cute.

I used a gezebo stamp that says Friends are Forever.  It is made by PSX stamp that is about 2 x 2 inches I'm guessing.   I am selling it for $3.00 if anyone is interested in this stamp.

A different kind of easel card

Yesterday I watched a youtube video by Jennifer, and her video just blew me away.  She has such a great personality, her video was a lot of fun to watch.  Best part, she included a tutorial for a really cool style of
card.  As soon as I watched it, I wanted to make the card, so that is what I did this morning.

This card folds flat and fits into an A2 size envie.  yay!  Thanks for the awesome

I used the My-Besties cd to make my project.  No coloring involved here because
I used the pre colored images.  I selected the image and then the elements that I wanted to use
from the cd and then I typed in a sentiment to go with my card.  Easy peasy!!

3 years old Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday card for a 3 year old.   I am using My-Besties stamp and die for my
card today.  I used 3 flowers to signify thats how old the little girl is this birthday.  She
might not realize it but that is okay.  I also put flower brads inside of the flowers.
This card was very simple to make, and didn't take long so I decided to make a matching
envelope too.  I cut one more flower out and put it on the inside flap of the envelope.

I've decided to make my 21 year old son a birthday card with a sailboat on it.  This past year he got a tattoo of a ship on his arm, so I think he might like this.

I am casing a card by Linda Beesom.  She made a lovely card.  Thank you Linda for the inspiration.  The ideas I have taken from her card are:

1.  I stamped my background pattern with multiple colors
2.  I used the same sketch she used
3.  My theme is birthday too
4.  I rounded all the corners like Linda did.

My son's girlfriend Elsie is a dog groomer, and it just so happens that she washes our dogs for free, and trims their toenails too.  How sweet is that?  So this card is going to her the next time she grooms our dogs. :)   I'll add a nice sentiment inside for her, and perhaps a gift card also.  The dogs love her, and so do we.

Dream

Creating on my Saturday afternoon.  I love to sit here and color, with the tv going in the background.  What a relaxing way to spend the day.

This little fairy has another idea on her mind.  She is taking a nap and dreaming, that might be what I go do next today.  :)

Wow, what a beautiful day it is today!  It's been rainy and windy these past few days, but it's totally calm out this morning.

For my card, I used Spellbinders dies. I love how they turned out!
I used 2 stamps which unfortunately I can't remember who made which ones, both
were clear stamps and out of the packaging.
I used my black Uchida pen to make the fun squiggles around the outsides of my
patterned papers. 

color challenge

I wanted to do some scrapbooking and ran across this fun color challenge. I had some really fun papers for it. I took a photo of my son and his girlfriend this Spring, and knew it would work great for this page.

E- Embellishment (I used the fairy coloing as my embellishment)

My-Besties Card in a box

My friend asked me to make her granddaughter a graduation card because she is graduating from elementary to junior high.
I thought this little Bestie grad would be perfect to color up and make a card in a box.

I used glittered foam for the stars and cut them with my spellbinder dies.  So easy and fun to do.

Twix loves her stick and goes for a swim #51 sketch challenge

Last week we decided to see if my son's dog Twix liked to swim at the local pond.  He threw the stick in the pond and she went right in to get it.  Each time he threw the stick a little further for her.  She was unsure of how to swim at first, but got the hang of it quickly.  She loves to play fetch and
the water made it even more fun for her.   When she got tired, she took her stick into the giggly weeds, knowing he wouldn't go in after her to throw it again.  She is such a sweet dog, she would play with that stick all day, just not in the water.

 

I had two fun patterned pieces of beach paper so I decided to combine the two together.

The sand patterned paper made it a lot easier for me to write on than the blue wavy fish paper for my journaling.

I thought I'd try my hand at the Sunday Sketch.   I see a lot of paper using Kraft paper so I thought I'd give it a go too.  I think I like the regular paper better, but still its fun to try something a bit different don't you agree?

Happy Father's Day Card

I thought this card would be fun for one of my son's to give their dad for Father's Day.  I'm a little early making it, but we are usually camping around father's day, so I wanted to get it done now.  Not to mention the fact that the Besties 3d deco blog is having a KISS challenge (Keep is simple sweetie)

 The layers are a little difficult to see because I ran out of foam tape so used glue tabs and a piece of folded over paper beneath each layer to give it a litte pop.  Foam tape is on my shopping list, much easier. LOL

My-Besties Flower card in a box Mother's Day!!!!

What a fun day yesterday was for me.  I got to meet an online friend Bonnie.  Bonnie taught me how to make this lovely box card/card in a box.  I'm really not certain what the proper name for it.  

We talked and talked, and I thought we worked on our cards, but we didn't even get this one finished. LOL   Ah, well I learned the basics and feel quite certain that I could make this again on my own.  Might be giving it a try soon.

I look forward to seeing Bonnie again some day. It was a Great visit.

Trying something new

I tried something a little new and different for me.   Prisma color pencils on craft paper.  Afraid I can't take credit for the idea, I saw it floating around Facebook.
