Belive tag accordian

Today's project is a gift that I plan on giving my mom.  She has given me things in the past with the
word Believe, so this is a little acknowledgement and appreciation to her.

These are tags all held together with a long strip of paper in the back, they fold up accordian style.  I really like how it turned out. The letters are cut with my silhouette, the letter files are free from Krewella kreations.

Easy project, lots of fun.  I would like to enter this project over at Scrapbook Blessings Club and at scrapping Everyday miracles.  You can find their blog at: http://scrapbookblessings.blogspot.com/   and http://scrappingeverydaymiracles.blogspot.com/2013/12/christmas-theme-challenge.html

Honeybearz Designs 12 Days of Christmas Blog Hop

I am so happy to be a guest designer for Honeybearz Designs 12 days of Christmas Blog Hop.  I hope you have the time to do the hop, as their are some amazing projects on this hop.  You'll find the links below to each of the blogs.

For my project I used a 12 x 12 sheet of paper to make a mini album.  This was so easy and so much fun that I couldn't stop at just one, I made a bunch of them.  :)  I still need to decorate the inside for each family member that I plan on giving them too.

If you would like to see the tutorial that I used you can find it at Teresa Collin's page here: http://teresacollins.typepad.com/teresa_collins/2012/02/feb-20th-simple-matchbook-mini-album.html

For my second project I made a waterfall card for  Scrapbook friends facebook group.

New challenges

I am involved in a group that is bringing us out of our comfort zones.  I am including today's project.

Make a wreath only from the items found in your yard.   This was completely new to me, I've never made a wreath before, so I am very pleased with how this turned out.

Mosaic Challenge- Good Grief!

I am in a Scrapbook group on Facebook that recently had this Mosaic Challenge.  I had to find a photo online, then make a mosaic of it.
I chose this Charlie Brown character to recreate. The first time I took a photo, I forgot to put his ears on as you can see.  It drove me a little batty so I added the ears and took another photo  :)

"Good Grief" is what I was thinking before during, and after this project!  But all in all it was a lot of fun and took me back to my elementary years at school.

Sunburst challenge and Thankful Challenge

The Scrapbook Blessings club has another fun challenge with tutorial up on their blog and facebook group.  Come join the challenge with me!

I used black card stock, black ribbon, yellow gems, printed paper by DCWV- The Mariposa matstack.

I liked this so much, that just for fun I decided to make a digital layout of one of my sons and my husband for the Scrapping Everyday miracles blog challenge.   I used my card photo above to make a hybrid sort of layout.
We went for a walk last week, and I took a few photos of them.  I wish my other son would have gone with us.
Come join us at Scrapping Everyday miracles and enter your thankful project.

Autumn card

This might be one of the busiest cards, I have ever created.  There is a lot going on here.  I'm not sure what I think of it yet.
The squirrel was given to me in a group by another crafter.   Thanks for taking a peak.

Autumn Layout

My confession.. This was a couple falls ago, and I am just now getting around to scrapping it.
Another confession, by the looks of these photos it may have been more than just a couple falls ago. LOL
Oh, one more confession, we had to use our neighbors leaves.  Why?  Well, we have dogs and where there are dogs..  well, lets just say we weren't taking any chances of landing in any poo!  LOL

my youngest son

It's been awhile since I have made a layout.  I found this beautiful photo of my youngest son Alex
and was inspired to scrapbook it.  My friend Christina took the photo of him while she visited us
from Texas. The layout is a sketch from Bev Code.

Alex is 20 years old, hard for me to believe.  Seems not that long ago, he was gabbing my ear off as a 5 year old.

I love that Smile!

Laughing at myself

Have you ever sat down to make a card, and everything you do just doesn't turn out right?  Well I had a few problems on my card tonight,  but just find it so funny that I am leaving it that way.

This is obviously a little bee holding balloons, but the stamp underneath it says.  Happy Bird-day   (shaking my head)  I know I should change it, but its just so funny as it is, that I am leaving it.  My friends will get why I left it that way. LOL

I am entering this card into the challenge at YNSC http://ynschallenges.blogspot.ca/ ends on 10/21

I am just addicted to The Scrapbook Blessings Club. Such a nice group of ladies.  Come for the challenges and stay for the friendship.

scrapping Everyday Miracles challenge

The challenge is to show your favorite season.  You must have 3 leaveson your page also.  I added the free piece of clipart with the word spring and all of the leaves around it to accomplish that part.
These tulips are one of my favorite parts about spring.  I love the springtime flowers after a long winter.

Sketch challenge for Scrapping Everyday Miracles

I ran across a fun challenge blog called Scrapping Everyday Miracles because of Helen on FB.  I am so glad she announced the challenge because it was a lot of fun.  Looks like they have a scrapbook challenge and a card challenge going on, so there is something for everyone.

I chose to do the card sketch challenge.  This was the sketch for cards and my card below that.
You can find the challenge at: http://scrappingeverydaymiracles.blogspot.com/2013/09/september-sketch-challenge.html
The twist is to use some sort of string or fibers.
The twist is to use some sort of string or fibers.  For my fibers I included a piece of light yellow lace.
For my circles I used yellow and orange brads.  They are Huge, gifted to me from my friend Anne.
She also gifted me the large leaf that I used in place of a phrase tag.  In fact she may have even given me
the yellow roses that I used. She has given me so much that I have lost track.  Thank you so much Anne.

Heat Embossing Tutorial

One of my favorite techniques of all time is Heat embossing. The main reason I like it is because it raises your stamped image off the page. The next reason is because it helps you stay in the lines when coloring. The last reason, but a very important one is that you can color your images right away without your markers and your ink bleeding into each  other.

You will need:

1.- A heating tool- I've had a couple of these, and don't find there to be much of a difference, so I would recommend going by price.

2.- Embossing powder- There are many colors and powder varieties. If you are just starting out, I am going to recommend you buy the clear, fine powder. Coloriser is a good brand, and its about $4.00 a jar and will last forever.

3.- Pigment ink pad- Its pretty important that you make sure that your ink pad says Pigment on it. It keeps wet a little while longer and holds your powder on the paper. Again, if you are just starting out, I would suggest you get a black pigment ink pad. This is just my preference but you will be able to use it for everything. I have one by Dovecraft that works great.

4.- A stamp, wood stamp or a clear stamp, but not a digi stamp. Don't worry this technique is not going to ruin your stamps.  I like to get most of my stamps from Sherri Baldy they are always sweet and make me smile.  You can find them here at:
My-Besties

Here is the image that I embossed last night....

Image Image

Very easy and simple instructions, you will get hooked right away, I hope you will give it a try.

1. Stamp your image using a pigment ink pad.

2. Quickly pour embossing powder over your image and shake it around being sure to cover the whole image.

3. Pour the excess powder back into the bottle. (I like to fold a piece of paper in half so That I don't spill, glides right back in to the bottle)

4. Use your heating gun to melt the powder onto your image. You will see it become darker when it starts to melt. Warning... (do not hold your heating gun too close to your paper or you will get brown marks)

5. Color your image if you wish.

Come give it a try, it's a lot of fun.
