Meljens Designs

I was at Paper Playful this morning and ran across a sketch challenge by Meljens Designs. Very cute
style of stamps.  I'm particularly fond of the little animal stamps.  Anyway, Meljens has some freebies
at their store, so I knew I wanted to join along in the challenge.

I liked this little stamp so much that I created two cards with it.  One for the challenge, and one just because.
On one card I used Copic markers, and on the other card I used Stampin up water color pencils.  I'm not sure which I like better yet.

What do you think?  The top one or the bottom?  Thanks for taking a peak.

New stamp and a new challenge

Oh what a great challenge that I've found today.  It just so happens that my mother and father in law adopted a new dog this week named Sugar.  The challenge is to make a card with a domestic animal.  Sherri Baldy just put out a brand new Bestie stamp tonight, so I knew it was the perfect choice to use.

You can find that digi stamp here:https://www.etsy.com/listing/180421689/instant-download-digital-digi-stamps-big?

I am entering my card into the challenge at Come and Get it http://cagichallenge.blogspot.ca/

A tag challenge and a card sketch challenge

I ran across a fun sketch challenge that happened to be a tag.  I have been wanting to make some tags for
some time so this was just the incentive to get me going.    Thank you Retro Sketches for the great inspiration.

Here is my tag for the challenge:

Here is Wanda's sketch

Sketch Saturday  has a fun sketch up today that I chose to use my tag in, and
make a card from their sketch. What do you think?

I almost made two seperate posts for these two challenges, but they worked together so well
that I took a photo of them both together too.

http://www.ipalamountain.com/2014/02/sketchbook-saturday-challenge-116/ was to use this sketch:

Boy card

I am loving all of the Precious Moments coloring pages that are online.  I find they are just as handy
to use as a digi stamp.  I don't do a lot of boy cards, and this is a bit dark, I probably won't use black
again for a young person's card.  I like the overall look of this card though.

Entering my cards into the following blogs:

#1- I am entering this into the Really Reasonable Ribbon challenge here at: http://reasonableribbon.blogspot.com/search/label/challenges  My ribbon is on the bottom layer of
my card up close against the top layer.  Look close :)

#2- I am also entering by using the sketch from Sketch N' Dies found here: http://adieforasketch.blogspot.ca/

I decided to make it an easel card because I am totally hooked on them, and they are so easy to do.

clean and simple birthday card

My card today is using a free coloring page image from Precious Moments.
I just love the little animals from there, so cute.
I've used markers to color, embossing powder, and plain card stock.  The stamp
that says Happy Birthday is from Annette Allen Watkins.  Not sure of the brand.

I am entering this card in the embossing challenge at http://thecraftingcafe.blogspot.co.uk/

New card for Valentine's day

I've been making a lot of cards and forgetting to post them to my blog.  :/

Here is the one that I made today.  I'm in love with this style of card.  So easy to make. There
is an svg file over at Birds Cards for us lazy gals that would rather cut it by machine than by hand.

I am using Birds svg file, Sherri Baldy's Bestie image, and one of Sherri Baldy's dies.

Entering this last minute over at http://blog.red-rubber-designs.com/2014/02/inspirational-106-stamped-hearts.html  Hearts is the theme.   Since this has hearts all over it, thought it would be fun to enter.

Love is in the air

"Love is in the air, everywhere you look around"  Remember that song?  If you don't and you want to hear it, its on YouTube here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HUaIdOsJqF8    I'm boogying around in my chair as I'm typing.

Anyway, getting on with my post. LOL

Today I used a darling design by Sherri Baldy My-Besties called Audrey's heart.

I saw a challenge over at Outlawz and thought I would make a card with it.

I  have used Copics to color my image.  Not sure on the names or brands of my papers.
The image is by Sherri Baldy.  The Love die is by Sherri Baldy, and the scalled dies are by
Spellbinders.

Thanks for taking a peak at my card.

Party time Tuesday challenge and Scrapbook Blessings Club Challenge

I found another challenge that sparked my interest.  Party Time Tuesday challenge #158 is a color
challenge.  Luckily I had papers of these colors.

The Scrapbook Blessings Club also has a challenge going on called LOVE is in the Air.  I am going to enter
this there too.  That is one of my fave challenge blogs.

My card is pretty simple, but I like how it turned out.

I am going to send this to my mother.  I think the 4 birds will symbolize my family of 4.

Come join the challenge here http://networkedblogs.com/Tsfov You have 4 days from now to enter.

Valentine card- non traditional colors

I found a challenge over at Red Rubber Inspirationals to make a stamped heart creation.  I loved
this idea, but didn't want to go traditional colors.
I looked through my stamps, and to my surprise most of heart stamps are no longer there.  I must have
sold them. Shaking my head.
Luckily I found a Stampin Up set that I have never used before called Polka Dot punches, that had a perfect decorative heart in it.  I decided to stamp the background with the stamp, and make that stamp by focus point.

If you would like to play along with this challenge you can find it at: http://blog.red-rubber-designs.com/2014/02/inspirational-106-stamped-hearts.html, up until Feb 13th.

Another layout

Back to my true love of scrapbooking.  I sure hope to fill a few albums this year.  I am so far behind.
The photos I chose to scrapbook is of my youngest son at his graduation.  It's an old photo, but something
I am very proud of.  He is in college now.  On his way to being a Veterinarian in the future.

I find sketches to be so helpful.  This one is from CMS challenge #55 http://color-me-scrappy.blogspot.com/2014/02/challenge-55-and-design-team-call.html   It ends Feb 10th, so come play along.

Butterfly card

I ran across a fun challenge at Crafting Musketeers today.  Butterflies!  I haven't done anything with butterflies for awhile so I put on my thinking cap and decided to make a shaped card.  If you would like
to join the challenge #10 you can find it here: http://craftingmusketeers.blogspot.com/2014/02/welcome-to-challenge-10-butterflies.html?spref=fb  Ends feb 27th

After cutting the file, I thought it looked a little plain so I decided to chance it, and doodle on it.  I really
like how the scribbles turned out.  I then took my perfect pearls mist and sprayed it to give it a sparkle.

I'm making this a thank you card for a special friend of my mine.  Hope she likes it.

Valentine's day card using My-besties stamp

Valentine's card I made today with a My-Besties digi stamp.  I am in love with these images created by Sherri Baldy.  She has always created beautiful art, but when her My-Besties came out, I was hooked.

I cropped this image to get her big and up close on the card. Admitting I wasn't thrilled with her coloring so I put the soft focus on.
LOL
You can find this digi stamp below at the following link.

A couple new challenges begin today over at Scrapping Everyday Miracles.  We have
a beautiful card sketch and layout sketch, we'd love for you to join us.  Our theme this

I did the card sketch for the month.  Which you can find here:     http://scrappingeverydaymiracles.blogspot.com/
