The cutie pie challenge

It's been another fun Saturday scrapping with my friend Jen.  We've done quite a few
challenges and learned a few things while we have been at it.  She is much more
detailed than I am.  I seem to be more of a quickie card maker even though my cards
seem to take me awhile because of my lack of organization. LOL

I'll sit my paper trimmer aside for a few minutes and it will take me another few minutes
just to find it again.  Yes, I am truly that messy.  lol

My card for this challenge over at the cutie Pie challenge blog is using
a digi stamp that I won from Catch the Bug.  (had to put in a plug for their blog) :0)
Isn't it cute?  Who would think a bug could be cute?

Anyway, the challenge over at The Cutie Pie Challenge blog is to make a card
using a cute image.  White on White, and remember, make it cute!

Come play Challenge #83 with us over at :

Atlantics Hearts Sketch challenge

Okay, 2 things to admit..  #1  This is not my favorite card.  #2 I have no intentions to give this to anyone because nobody I know is having a baby.

Whew!  Glad I got that off my chest.  So..  the question becomes Why did I make it?  Well, Atlantic Hearts Challenge blog has a sketch challenge going on, and I like to challenge myself.   Still I think
they won this time.

Sketch 92  http://atlanticheartschallenge.blogspot.ca/2015/01/sketch-92.html

What don't I like?  um.. the rattles are not even.  there is no border on my card, and then again
the fact that it was not a baby challenge and yet some how I found myself making a baby card
with nobody to give it to. LOL   grrrrr   What was I thinking?

Cosmic Strawberry

Cosmic Strawberry Challenge #9  Ending today!

I don't think my camera picked up my colors well, but hopefully you can see
that I've used the first and second and third color and the very last color.

I think this is one of the images that I won last week from Bugaboo.
My paper is from the Once upon a time collection.
I've used both copics and watercolor pencils to color.

To Cheer You

Did you see the challenge over at Catch the Bug today?  It's really cool!  CAS 321 recipe challenge

3 sentiment (I'm guessing that means 3 words)
2 flowers (I am including my flowers as part of my digi)
1 image ( awesome image that I won over at Catch the Bug)

Now be careful here, because my card may be disqualified because my flowers are in my image
so you may want to check on that before you do what I did.

Come on over and play because it's a lot of fun to challenge yourself and have a good time looking
at all the other beautiful cards. http://catchthebugblog.blogspot.com/2015/01/its-time-for-january-recipe-challenge.html

Mackinaw bridge vacation

Over at Pixels and Paper CHallenge blog, they are having a great photo inspiration challenge.
The photo is a pair of green and purple flip flops sitting on a sandy beach.  Right away I knew
I wanted to scrap my trip from 2013 I had the perfect photos.

http://pixelsandpaperchallengeblog.blogspot.com.au/

Ruff Day

I found this cute doggy freebie image yesterday while looking for an image to use for the sketch
over at moving along with the timeshttp://movingalongwiththetimes.blogspot.co.uk/
Come play along with us, you have until around Jan 5th!

Sending Love

This is the freebie stamp given by A Day for Daisies this week.  Pretty awesome isn't it?
I'd like to give a big Thank You for the freebies they give out.

For my card I used a freebie cloud background, and placed my image over it. I printed it out
this way, and then colored the image up with Copics.  I took my scissors and roughed it up
a bit around the edges.  Not sure what that is called, but I like the effect. :)

I am entering my card is this weeks challenge #114 here: http://adayfordaisies.blogspot.com/

Thanks for taking a peak.

OMG- a bee!

I ran across a honeybee challenge over at http://www.lunagirlmoonbeams.com/  how cute is that?
I've never  seen a challenge like that one before.

Immediately I knew which image I would use for the challenge.  It is a My-Besties Bee by Sherri Baldy 3d sheet.  It comes in digi, and in 3d printables.  http://scrapbookstampsociety.com/auction_details.php?auction_id=107591

Be sure to find a honeybee and come play along!  You have 6 more days to play! Ends 2/5

Another challenge I am entering is over at the Stamping Boutique found here: http://thestampingboutiquechallengeblog.blogspot.ca/  The challenge is to make your own
background.  I used a Cuttlebug folder called Dots to make my background.
I can't find an end date for this, so hurry up come play!

My card is simple and quick.
Materials used:
Cuttlebug Embossing folder Dots
My-Besties Bee 3d sheet
patterned paper from Colorbok

This is what the 3d sheet looks like after it is scanned on the brother scan n cut

The printout taped to mat with painters tape. I find this easier than
spraying a mat to get it sticky each time.
All parts after the cut.  It cut each piece out, so scissor work at all.

My-Besties and PSX

I decided to put a couple stamps together today.  The girl stamp is from My-Besties and the
garden arch is from PSX.  Both companies are two of my faves.

I really like the simplicity of this card and the colors. My only problem I have with it, is that
I pressed too hard on my sentiment stamp, it is just too dark.  Ah well, still cute huh?

Originally this started out with no frame at all around it, just plain white background.  It
looked a little dull to me, so asked a friend, and she said frame it.  I looked for a matching purple
but it really made it look dull.  Found this lovely black and white lacy paper and I think it
really makes the images stand out.  Hope you do too :)  I think this will be perfect for the crisp
and white challenge over at Colouring Crazy Challenge at: http://graphitmarkers.blogspot.co.uk/ .

You can find the Bestie called Love Letters here: https://www.etsy.com/listing/219627263/instant-download-digital-digi-stamps-big?ref=shop_home_active_24

I am entering my card in the following challenges:

http://www.addictedtostamps-challenge.blogspot.com.au/ (challenge 129 anything goes) ends 2/5

http://craftygalscornerchallenges.blogspot.com/ (try something new) I mixed stamps  ends 2/3

House that stamps built challenge

I made a card similar to this one the other day with different colors and a different saying. I liked it
so much that I decided to create another.  Fun for a fast card.

Dies- Butterflies from Memory Box
Embossing folder- Cuttlebug
stamp-  ugh..not sure where I got this one.

2 challenges and freebie

The other day I came across this blog that had freebie bird digis. They are super cute, but I wasn't
sure what I was going to do with them.  Then today I came across a challenge over at Double Click, the link is here if you would like to play along: http://doubleclickconnections.blogspot.com/2015/01/happy-birthday-to-you-sweetest-birdie.html

Guess what the challenge is?  Birds!  ha, what lucky timing is that!  I came up with a Birthday card
using one of the darling little bird digis.  You can come get the same image over here at: http://kajsansscrapblog.blogspot.se/

I paired that together with the COLORFUL challenge over at Cute Card Thursday CHallenge 357
http://cutecardthursday.blogspot.com/

TeddyBear Snowflakes - 4 challenges

I ran across 2 snowflake challenges over at : http://www.scrapitgirl.net/index.php/2015/01/01/happy-year-challenge-snowflakes/ and http://meljensdesignsdt.blogspot.com/2015/01/challenge-244-let-it-snow.html
and 1 anything Goes challenge at : http://pennyschallenges.blogspot.com/2015/01/welcome-to-pennys-challenge-211.html
Then over at Miriams crafting blog she is having a mostly white challenge! http://miriamscraftingblog.com/1/post/2015/01/miriams-crafting-blogs-20th-monthly-challenge-mostly-white.html
A teddy bear challenge over at: http://craftycatzweeklychallenge.blogspot.com/

I found this cute image with the little bear holding snowflakes.  Isn't it adorable?  Honestly, I have no idea what I am going to do with this card, perhaps share it with a
friend that doesn't get snow where she lives.  So, inside I can put a sentiment Sharing a few flakes
with you.  :)

I've used the dots embossing folder, plain white card stock, and the snowflakes with Stickles.
I wish I could have gotten a better photo.

Let's spend some time together

I ran across a challenge the other day that called for red paper white paper and Kraft paper.  I thought
about it for awhile and just couldn't come up with anything.  Until today...

I just happened to run across the sketch challenge over at http://casethissketch.blogspot.com/2015/01/case-this-sketch-107.html #107
As you can see it worked great for my color challenge  at:

This card I will set aside for awhile. I plan on surprising my friend That lives
across the US with a visit this summer.  She has come to my house twice now, so
this big chicken needs to get out and broaden my horizons.  I'll send it to her
about a month before I plan on coming to visit.

Scrapbook layout and a challenge sketch :)

Did you hear that Got Moxxie has a fabulous sketch challenge going on?  Check this sketch below
out, isn't it fab?  I haven't scrapbooked since the beginning of the month so it was great to find
this fun sketch.  Come play along because you have plenty of time. It closes in 6 more days, I think that puts up around the 1st of the month.  Good luck to all who play.  http://gotmoxxie.typepad.com/got_moxxie/2015/01/new-sketch-challenge.html

Really cool huh?  Except..  that darn journaling part.  I hate journaling. LOL
My handwriting is awful.  I did it anyway, why not?  :)

My layout is on 8x8 paper and the papers that I am using
are from Momenta.

Feeling Sketchy

Feeling Sketchy has an awesome sketch up!  Come play along.  http://feeling-sketchy.blogspot.com.au/

There is also an ANYTHING GOES challenge over at https://cliquekits.wordpress.com/2015/01/03/clique-kits-january-challenge/  Come join us
there too!

I am making this card for my friend Christina.  She has the most beautiful horses.  I would love to
visit her and see them in person.  She is a dear friend, and would love to be able to visit her this
summer, but for now, I'm sending her this card, with my love.

Scrapbook Blessings Club tutorial link and challenge

My dear friend Sandy runs the challenge blog over at Scrapbook Blessings Club.  I you haven't been over there on FB or on the blog be sure to come check it out. Always a fun challenge, and tutorial happening.  Come play along here: http://www.scrapbookblessingsclub.com/2015/01/jan-cascade-card-tutorial-challenge.html  Ends 1/31

Today there is a tutorial for Cascading cards.  To me, they look like accordians, not sure how they
get their name, but they are fun to make.

Here is my take on the challenge.  I'm using memory dies, and a beautiful die from Sherri Baldy
that you can find at www.my-besties.com I cut off the ends on this to fit my card but it is a
beautiful bird border die that is 5.5 inches long.

The 10 Things I love about you, is a freebie printable found online just by doing the google search

I'm thinking my card needs something on top, I am just not sure what.  Hopefully it will come to me
before I give it to my hubby next month.

Thanks for taking a peak, and if you have any suggestions I would love to hear them.  :)

a sketch, a holiday and a Bestie!

Happy Saturday :)   Today is my hubby's birthday so a big shout out to my honey!  :)

My friend Jen and I got online together and mixed up 4 challenges today.  The beautiful
sketch #208 challenge from Less is more http://simplylessismoore.blogspot.com/2015/01/week-208-sketch-time.html

tea drinker. :) You can find both digi stamps here: https://www.etsy.com/listing/219627176/instant-download-digital-digi-stamps-big

Just add ink challenge: Add some love and tag sketch

It is always fun to find a sketch, but a tag sketch yahoo! This one was a tag or a tag with card sketch.
I started off simple, with just the tag, and then i thought I better make a card. :)  So I did, and
really like how it turned out.  This reminds me of one of those progressive challenges where you
don't know what is coming next but you do one thing to it each week and you never know what
you will end up with. Fun!

I better stop jibber jabbering, and get on with my card.  The challenge is found at: Just add ink
http://just-add-ink.blogspot.com.au/2015/01/just-add-ink-247just-add-love-blog-hop.html  The
lovely ladies there did a blog hop as well, and if you visit them you won't be disappointed. All
made great projects.

Come play along, you have 4 more days to enter!  :)

pull toy

Hello, today's project for the Catch the Bug Challenge is inspired by animal crackers!  Use at least
1 animal and stickles.  http://catchthebugblog.blogspot.com/2015/01/bugaboo-stamps-5th-birthday-friday.html

I really liked the animal crackers box, so looked up a template online to simulate it.   I also
found a really fun carnival ticket freebie here: http://bringinghomeezra.blogspot.com/2012/04/new-carnival-invitation-printable.html

I have made my elephant digi into a 3d by printing it multiple times, and using foam tape between
each piece.  As you can see he is thick enough to sit up on his own.  Isn't he cute?

I've used bottlecaps for wheels on my circus cart, and twine for an illusion of it being a pull toy.
I have to admit, the twine wasn't my idea, my friend Bonnie said it would make a cute pull toy.

Lots and lots of stickles to decorate the outside.  :)

THanks for taking a peak and don't forget to come join Catch the Bug Challenge blog in their
5th birthday celebration!

I couldn't decide if I liked the top photo or bottom one, so sharing both. LOL

Catch the bug Challenge sketch

After this post I am finally caught up on the fun challenges over at Catch the Bug Challenges.
Can't wait to see what tomorrow's challenge will be.  You can come play along here : http://catchthebugblog.blogspot.com/

Today is a sketch challenge, well actually it was Sunday's challenge, but I skipped that one by
accident.

My friend Christina's hubby is having a birthday in February so this is going right to him.
They live in Texas and I live in Michigan, and while she was here visiting me, we saw a truck
that said "yee yee"   She asked me what that meant, and I didn't have a clue, never saw that
or heard it before.  So, we looked it up!   Urban Legends says that It's a phrase that people in
Michigan use for just about any thing.  Got a fish on the line, yee yee.  Momma made a pie Yee yee!

My poor friend came here and now must think we are idiots.  LOL

Anyway, I thought it would be super cute to make her hubby a card with that phrase on it.  :)

The sketch shows an oval, 3 stars, a sentiment box, and the digi.  :)

Catch the bug celebration Humorous challenge

It's another fun day at Catch the Bug.  They are continuing on celebrating their 5th birthday!,
Today's challenge is to make a humorous card.  This one will go to my hubby in just 3 days.

I've used Sassy as the image sitting on the cupcake and holding one.  I couldn't come up with
a cute saying on my own so I did a google search on cupcake jokes, and Quit Staring at My Cupcakes
is one of the things that came up.  I think its quite fitting for this image. :)  Don't you?

I chose my papers first for this challenge, and then found my markers to match.  I guess the only thing I really don't care for is the bright blue frosting on my cupcakes.  Maybe I should leave the
frosting white next time and just add sprinkles.

I left her stockings white, but I would love to see this image colored up how the artist thought of
her when she was drawing her up.  Same with the hair, I wasn't sure if her hair is pulled back in
like a pony tail, but I liked it that way and left the space white between her arm and the rest of her
hair.  Again, I would love to see it the way the artist thought it up.

Anyway, enough of my chattering away.  Come play with us today. http://catchthebugblog.blogspot.com/2015/01/bugaboo-stamps-5th-birthday-celebration.html

Catch the bug celebration

Catch the Bug Challenge blog is celebrating Bugaboo's big birthday celebration this week with

This sketch is from the challenge over at Tuesday Morning Sketches.  You can come

Love and Friendship

Uniko Studio has a fun challenge going on.  Love and Friendship and you can come play
along with us over here at this link. http://unikostudio.blogspot.com/2015/01/challenge-17.html

I've made a clean and simple card using a stamp from Inky Antics.  Funny thing about this
card is that I actually stamped the words My Friend on the card UPSIDE DOWN! lol
Have you ever done that?  Made me feel so silly.  I stamped again on another piece of paper
and adhered it, and it turned out fine.  :)

Thanks for taking a peak

Try stampin Tuesday sketch

I am in love with this card.  The paper is called Vintage Romance and is made by Creating with Sherri Baldy.  www.my-besties.com  The hpaper comes with coordinating tags, and all sorts of goodies.
Can't wait to get some more.

I found this fabulous sketch over at: http://trystampinontuesday.blogspot.com/

Ike's World sketch challenge

I'm back with another challenge card today.  I find these challenges so much fun.  Sketch challenges
are my very favorite.

Today's sketch challenge comes from Ike's world challenges- You can play along here: http://ikesworldchallengeblog.blogspot.gr/  Great thing about it is you have 20 more days to give it a try.  I think that puts it closing around 2/10

I'm using some of my Momenta paper that I have had now for a couple of years.  I love this stuff
not sure why I haven't used it sooner.  I am also using a PSX stamp that I have had for quite some
time and this is the first time using it as well.  Yay!  2 things I won't feel guilty for buying now. LOL

I need to buy a new ink pad, as this one just isn't popping enough for me.  Other than that, super cute, don't you think?  Kind of a retro feel.

Digi sketch Challenge

My card today was inspired by the sketch over at Digi Sketch Challenges. http://digisketchchallenge.blogspot.com/

I am using an adorable My-Besties  from Sherri Baldy, found at www.scrapbookstampsociety.com

Thanks for taking a peak.

It looks like it needs something, I just can't think of what.

Celebration day 3

Today is day 3 of Bugaboo's big celebration!  I didn't know about day 2, but will go back and play
that one also. I think it is too late now, but should be fun, they have a great sketch.

Today's challenge is from an inspiration photo, found below my project.

I found these great water globes at Walmart in the clearance section in their photo department.
Who would think to go back there for clearance?  Not me, but I will be making my way back there
every so often now.  :)  These are about the size of a baseball and were only 58 cents.

The inspiration that I took from the photo was the bright blues, greens, yellow and oranges, and
obviously the birthday theme too. :)

Oh my goodness, did you see that there is a celebration going on over at Catch the Bug Challenge?
Its their 5th birthday!  Yay!  Come along and play http://catchthebugblog.blogspot.com/2015/01/bugaboo-turns-5-celebration.html

Here is the Bingo board

I've decided to do the middle row across and the middle row going down.  Scallops, Stripes and a clown, and Balloons, stripes and bright colors.  :)

Aren't the digis fabulous?

Celebrate

Back again with another challenge.  2 to be exact.

I am entering Cupcake Inspirations the colors are brown, pink and gray.  I've used 2 of the 3.  I just
couldn't find a way to add the gray.  http://cupcakeinspirations.blogspot.com/  This challenge closes
1/23 so come play along.

I am also entering The Paper Players, their challenge is  CAS with sentiment as the focus.  I've cut my sentiment on the scan n cut machine, and used the same paper for my card decorations.  Can't get much more simple than this. :)  http://thepaperplayers.blogspot.com/ This challenge closes 1/22

Happy

2 more fun challenges today with this card!  Thanks Jen and Sandy for the fun games today.

Our first challenge came from A Day for daisies.  The challenge is ombre.  They also gave a
sweet freebie image to use.  THank you!  :)  This challenge ends on 1/25 http://adayfordaisies.blogspot.com/

Our second challenge was to make an aperture card.  That is a card with a hole in it.  This challenge came from Quirky Crafts Challenges. This challenge ends 1/30  Thank you for the fun challlenge
http://quirkycrafts.blogspot.com/

Our third challenge was from Inkspirational as they were also doing Ombre.  This fun challenge
closes 1/30 so come play along!  http://inkspirationalchallenges.blogspot.co.uk/

I would love to have your opinion on which card looks best with or without the word happy?

Friends challenge with Sandy and Jen :)

My friends Jen, and Sandy and I got together this morning and we each picked a challenge to
design a card for.  The twist, whatever challenge they chose, we would have to incorporate
into our cards.

I chose the sketch challenge from : http://stickitdown.blogspot.ca/

Jen chose the color challenge from: http://colorthrowdown.blogspot.com/

Sandy chose the Take your Pick Challenge from
 http://www.thekraftjournal.blogspot.com/2015/01/make-it-monday-challenge-206-take-your.html

I used the diecuts, white, and patterned paper

With all 3 challenges combined this is what I came up with. DIECUTS, WHITE, PATTERNED PAPER
