Birthday Luau Blog Hop 29,30,31

day 3 project- Last minute card, ugh- would rather not post anything, I am not happy with this card, and its last minute. Serves me right for waiting so long to complete this. LOL Your next stop is Jearise at - http://lorbysworld.blogspot.com

Day 2 project- Bookmark with beach themed ribbon. Question- Is it bookmark or is it bookmarker? I am a 40 year old woman and this question is just now coming to me. LOL It's kind of like people calling hamburgers -hamburgs, that bugs me and here I am maybe doing the same thing with a bookmark/bookmarker. LOL

Welcome to the Birthday Luau Blog Hop! Happy Birthday Barbara. We have some talented crafters, please visit each site to see their projects and leave a comment to be eligible for the prizes. You should have come from: Tammy- http://thepurplemuse.blogspot.com/ but if you just stumbled upon my blog and would like to start at the beginning of the hop please go to: Barbara B. http://barbarab3.blogspot.com/
On to my project: I made a birthday card with a hula girl. The skirt is made from prima flowers cut apart and layered on. The design is a coloring page that was printed out. I added a calendar month and colored in the date of my MIL birthday since this card is going to her.

Your next stop on the hop is: Jearise- http://lorbysworld.blogspot.com/ if you should have trouble with any links on the hop please go back to Barbara's and find the next link on the hop.

I am also linking this project up to You had me at Craft.

House Mouse Flying- 2 challenges

The challenge today at http://creationsbygillm.blogspot.com was to create something that flies. I had this House Mouse stamp that I hadn't tried out yet so thought it was perfect for the challenge, since she is flying on a paper napkin. I used a magazine page for the background.

The flowers from the magazine ad, reminded me of the challenge going on over at : http://www.4craftychicks.blogspot.com/ there are flower pots hanging on the wall with purple and green. The door is bright blue, and this card also takes that shape of the doorway.

DT Call at StampingDragonDesigns

http://stampingdragondesigns.blogspot.com/is having a DT call. Here is the image they ask you to color. It's actually a card. I brought the image into Inkscape, sized it, then made a shadowed image, duplicated it, and welded it together to make a card, then cut it on the Cricut. This was my best shot. Wish me luck. I heat embossed it to make it shiny. You can try out too at : http://stampingdragondesigns.blogspot.com/

sketch challenge from Lily pad Cards

This card took forever to make, and I am still not certain that I am 100 % happy with it, but its staying this way now! lol I followed a cute sketch. There are 2 gems on each side of the oval, and each of the corners are cropped.

Can you believe all of the goodies Jacque's giving away? She is celebrating, come help celebrate with her, and get your chance to win some Sweet Stuff

Fabulous Birthday card

I am entering this into challenge #90 at : http://skippingstonesdesign.com
I love how it turned out. I don't even remember buying this paper but I really really like it. You can barely see the pearls that are there in the photo but if you squint you can see them. LOL

The words are stamps from Stampin Daisies

Black and White horse card

This card looks so much better in person. The horse and rocks are all heat embossed with a shiny glaze. Those are horseshoes along the edge, I pushed a little too hard with my stamp, so they are skewed a bit. Overall I still like the card, will leave the sentiment for later when I have a reason to send it.

Fall card

I Saw the errors of my ways once I had already taken a photo of this card. I still like it, but the leaves on the gourd nest should have been orange or brown. Oops!

Bucket List Blog Hop day 2

Today I want to talk about 2 of my bucket list goals in particular.

Donating blood and plasma is one of the things I would really like to do, but I have been scared to do it. They can make medicines from your plasma and save lives did you know that? I didn't know that until recently. I would like to save a life, and this seems like a really easy way and sure way of doing it. Definitely #1 on my bucket list. Have you thought about doing it?

#2 Donating my organs. After I kick the bucket, of course! I had to talk to my family about this, because they were against it. I finally have registered to be an organ donor. I won't need my parts after I am gone, I won't even know it. Why not give the ultimate gift of all, the gift of life. Did you know you can save the lives of 8 people from your organs? It can enhance the lives of 42 others. Imagine that, you will be responsible for saving all of those lives. Saving someone's brother, their sister, their mother, their father, their child.
Take the time to think about it, maybe it isn't for you, or maybe you just haven't thought about it. If it is something you might want to consider, you can look up your local registry online and read more about it. http://www.organdonor.gov/Default.asp

Using a cartridge for the first time in years

Okay, so the challenge at Kimberli's Creations was to use a cartridge you haven't used in awhile. I only have 1 cartridge and I haven't used it ever, so this was my attempt. It took me a good 20 minutes to figure out how to use my Cricut with a cartridge again. LOL I was a little lost. The first cut came out an inch tall. oops! I used the Four Legged Friends cartridge.

Bee Crafty card with freebie digi from their site

Fun challenge from Bee Crafty http://bee-crafty.blogspot.com/ The challenge is to chop a digi. I used a freebie digi from Bee Crafty. I knew I wanted the bunny to sit on a swing but I didn't know if I could draw one. I used a rubber stamp at home, of a tree branch, then drew on the swing. The little bunny looks like it was meant to be there! I colored it with markers, then put a clear embossing powder over it to make the little bunny stand out.

TallyScrapper Challenges and more

<---My scrap Leftovers! Just so happens this is also a challenge at www.Hidinginmycraftroom.com this week. yay!

There is tons of fun going on over at TallyScrapper this weekend. I've been so involved with that, I have forgotten about my dear ole blog. Here are the cards that I submitted over there.

Be sure to go check out their challenges and games.

Another challenge

Hiding in my craftroom had a color challenge that I almost missed. We are supposed to use pink, green, and brown. Here is my shot at it. I used plain cardstock and my cuttlebug. Houndstooth folder was used on the green paper and a birthday present was used on my pink paper. Its a little too plain but I'm not sure what I want to add to it. I'm thinking maybe a little message in white.http://www.hidinginmycraftroom.com/2011/08/color-challenge-6.html

My Pink Stamper Challenge

The blog hop at My Pink Stamper was fun today, if you haven't checked it out yet you still have time. Lots of really cute projects. Great variety.

The challenge is to show your crafting style. Well, I like cutesy stuff. I love paper piecing. So I designed a little dog with big curly ears shape card to cut on my Cricut. He is wearing an argyle sweater. Isn't he cute?

Octopus card

Summertime challenge at Michelle Perkett Studios. This is a digi freebie from her site at: http://michelleperkettstudio.blogspot.com/2011/08/summertime-fun.html Hop on over there and join in on the fun.

challenge #3 bling it

I had no idea what to do for a bling it card. Sure I have gems, and sparklies, but what should I use them with? lol

I chose to do a simple shaped card with minimum bling. 4 pink gems, and a sparkly middle. It is hard to tell , but this card really does sparkle.

Seashell shaped card

Challenge #2 is to make a shaped card, or strange fold over at hiding in my craftroom.http://www.hidinginmycraftroom.com/

Challenge Favorite Technique http://artimpressionsstamps.blogspot.com/ My favorite technique is heat embossing. All of the little bubbles are heat embossed.

Seashell shaped card with digi stamps. You can find these at http://www.stampindaisies.com/ If you buy her clear stamp sets she gives you the FREE matching digi set, can't beat that!

buttons and bows challenge at Hiding in my craftroom

Fun challenges going on today at Hiding in my craftroom. The first challenge is buttons and bows. I don't usually use either, so to me this is another new challenge. I used my cuttlebug and an embossing folder on my white cardstock. Then glue tabbed a bunch of pink buttons on. Ugh, the bow, I hate making bows, they never turn out right. So what to do , what to do...hmm, a stamp, yes, I cheated and used a stamp of a bow. I'm such a coward. lol I really like the way the card turned out though. What do you think?
Come play the challenge at http://www.hidinginmycraftroom.com/2011/08/blogiversary-challenge-1-giveaway.html

Citrus challenge

Scrapbook page made for the citrus color challenge at the paper variety. I really like the colors and they arn't something I would have originally put together. The sun was originally made for a shaped card, but I thought it would be perfect for a hidden journal box on this page. Love it.

Summery Card

Fun summery card using 4 different flower stamps plus a Magnolia Tilda stamp. Okay, I'll admit it, I don't like the fact that they don't have any mouths or noses, so I added it on myself. lol yea yea, I've heard they are angels and they speak from the heart that's why they don't have any mouths, well, where are the noses and the wings then? lol

Challenge entered:

3-d Mermaid card

This was a fun 3-d card to make. It is stamped with a Magnolia image and the rest of the images are from the ocean set at Stampin Daisies.

Happy Day Anyway

The card challenge over at 365 cards was to use objects on the card as a balloon that weren't originally meant to be balloons. Cute idea huh? I used the Mickey moust stickers, then colored in little ties at the bottoms to make them look like balloons. I really like how simple this card was to make and how much fun it turned out to be.
Thanks for taking a peak. I am entering it into their "My beautiful ballloon" challenge, come do the same with your own take on the challenge. http://365cards.blogspot.com/

Fairy card from a Day for Daisies

There is a great challenge going on at http://adayfordaisies.blogspot.com
You need to use one of their images which I did, it was a freebie (thank you adfd) and you also need to use some sort of fancy fold on your card. This spring card is so easy and fun to make, I really love it. You can find the tutorial at splitcoaststampers.

I am entering this into ADFD challenge #24
